CAROL PODEDWORNY is the Director and Chief Curator of the McMaster Museum of Art, Hamilton and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in McMaster University’s School of the Arts. Podedworny holds Masters in Museum Studies (University of Toronto) and Art History (York University). She has worked for a number of cultural institutions in the Canadian arts community since 1982. She is currently Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Art Galleries.
In the past 35 years, Podedworny has worked for a variety of Canadian cultural institutions as both a staff and an independent curator. She has produced over 70 exhibitions and contributed over 50 essays to journals, books and exhibition catalogues. Podedworny has taught at York University, University of Waterloo, and was Scholar in Residence in the Art History Department at Queen’s University, Kingston. Podedworny’s research interests include: curatorial and museological practice; contemporary Canadian art; and post-contact First Nations art.
